Terrible company, the epitome of everything wrong with our healthcare system, and anyone involved with them should be ashamed. After promising a "commitment to smooth transition for patients" when taking over this large independent practice, WellMed/Optum quickly dropped all private insurance and therefore most non-Medicare patients. Patients who had relationships with excellent PCP's for 10+ years were not even given referrals to new doctors, and in many cases not given advance notice. Care in progress was interrupted. Services at the office are fine. But the billing office is horrible, long wait time on the phone with very bad attitude.
