You've probably already seen a lot of negative reviews about the wait times but let me tell you, they're nowhere near over exaggerating. I checked into Wellington Regional Hospital around 11:40PM and said I was scared my appendix was about to burst. I had left it unattended for admittedly a long time, meaning it was a real threat to my system. Immediately my blood was taken and I was sent into the waiting room. As my parents get older we have started having the occasional visit to the ED, and the experience has been fantastic. Yes there can be a wait, but that's not the fault of the lovely and incredibly hard working staff. Every person I interacted with was friendly and compassionate, and took the time to make sure our needs were met to the best of their ability. My heartfelt thanks for caring for my whanau.
