Never use Brett Weiss for canvas, unless you want to get jersey around and donate money to a con artist. I gave him a full enclosure to replace windows and go over stitching. He lost the top and said to give him 200 to split materials to make a new one, he then said he needed another 150 so I gave it to him and he had excuse after excuse for months. Got tired of the run around so I had Gioia Sails make a new top and what a pleasure dealing with professionals and they had it done in a couple weeks. I'm still trying to get my ... read more
Had Brett go over full enclosure with top to clean up stitching and replace clear vinyl in February. Gave him 50% and it was supposed to be 2weeks for completion. I didn't get the canvas back till April, after I paid him in full, he gave me back the canvas without the top. He didn't go over the stitching or anything, is all he did was replace the clear vinyl. Since then he has been saying he would make good on the top but I hear give me till Tues or it will be done on Friday every week since April. Very unreliable and a liar... read more
Where to begin!!! My experience goes back a while. Asked to have two separate jobs done. One clear vinyl repair to get me from long Island to forked river in the cold (early spring) and one complete total canvas package soup to nuts to start when Iboat was in FR. Well after deposit for both jobs was given only the repair was completed. Called, emailed to see when main job was going to start. Every excuse in the book then promises that went no where. Gets deposit and has excuse after excuse. My guess is he expects you to eventually give up calling and he keeps the money. ******UPDATE*******………So Brett got notice of my review and he called, was upset with the review and said he would be here on Saturday. It was a beautiful September day and we could have had a great day out on the boat or anywhere but sitting here all day waiting for him to show. ONCE AGAIN he was a NO SHOW. Total scam and liars. Brett took 50% deposit in March and said cover will be ready in June. In September said he wont do the job. Be aware and stay away, never paid money to this guys.
