Our appointment was literally 1 minute. I have hyperacusis (sensitive hearing), which was the reason for our visit. He looked at my ears for 2-3 seconds each, said everything looked good, said my hearing test from the other day was good, and suggested I buy earplugs. Earplugs. I walked 10-15 minutes with full-body chronic pain just to be told to buy earplugs and leave within 3 minutes of stepping foot into his office. Even the nurse spent more time with me. Awful bedside manners. Completely dismissed my symptoms and abruptly cut me off to inform me there was nothing he could do over the phone. I’m not sure what the point of being the doctor on call is if you can’t provide basic instructions or resources. It sounded like he could care less about providing care as he treated me like an nuisance. So sorry to inconvenience you, Dr. Shao!! Maybe you can find a career path that’s more fulfilling and rewarding than, you know, being a doctor.
