Wait times to be seen, even for severe ailments has been a problem at this hospital for decades, and it doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon. Besides that, the doctors employed don’t seem to care one bit about the people that are seeking help. I understand they may be understaffed, but UPMC can absolutely afford to increase staffing. This issue can no longer be blamed on the fact that it’s a “non-profit” organization. In fact, the wait times have seemed to get worse, and patient care has seemed to diminish in tandem.
Tonight I went into the emergency unit in excruciating pain. I have a heart condition and they are well aware of it in my charts. Dr. Intrieri was so uncaring and treated me as if I was an addict (which I am not) refusing me pain medications. I left that place still in pain. Safe to say that I will not be returning to this hospital for my care needs.
Here currently haven't been fed at all still waiting on a upstairs bed after 24 hours make it make sense
I spent 6+hours at the emergency room on 10/16/2025. I was sent there by the V.A. to have a Doppler done on my leg to see if there was a blood clot causing the fatigue in my leg. When I got there it was very busy so I understand my wait would be long. However after it slowed down about 10:00 p.m. I figured I would be seen soon. Still not seen by 1:00A.M. and being told you’re going to be next for the 4th time, I left.
Horrible spent almost 6 hours in the emergency room, all these nurses just standing around doing nothing and eating at the nurses station, this place needs to be alittle bit more quicker
