Bought a brand new Mitsubishi Outlander less than one year ago. The interior trim around the USB ports has already deteriorated and looks badly worn, despite normal use only (see photo). I raised this with the dealer, who acknowledged the issue and lodged a claim with Mitsubishi. Mitsubishi refused replacement, calling it “wear and tear”, which is unacceptable for an interior component in a new vehicle. This is clearly a materials or manufacturing defect, not misuse.
