The oysters have always been a high point at the happy hour. Occasionally I didn’t care for the type of oyster but mostly you served York River, which are excellent. My most recent visit was a surprise…the oysters are no longer part of the happy hour menu and the oyster being served was of poor quality. Plus, the oyster was not properly shucked and very hard to get out of the shell. Waypoint prides itself as the best happy hour in Williamsburg but I fear that designation will not last.
Manager was a jerk after we were served the entree portion of scallops instead of the appetizer portion we ordered. When we pointed this out after seeingbthe bill, he asked us if we had eaten them all and whether we had enjoyed them, and thus concluded that we must pay the dinner price. So much for “the customer is always right.” The server was otherwise wonderful as was all of our food (except the chocolate lava cake which was below average). The rude manager threw a wet towel on our excellent dinner, unfortunately.
This is a very nice place for date night.
