Family member was in the SWING unit. New admissions are subjected to loss of stimulation, no clock, no music no phone seclusion to their room. Without a way to orient herself to time of day family member became confused. No charges but run like a jail.Female nursing staff are not using therapeutic technuques to rehabilitate psychosis they seem to be trying to shape behaviour with earned privelages like it was juvenille detentiom. Do not send your loved one to this place. The Swing Unit needs to be investigated. No help. No compassion. Waste of tax payers money.
Excellent resources! The OATS program has changed my life. Thank you for the support and for truly understanding. I feel like a better version of my old self is reemerging, and I am hopeful for my future. Thanks for everything!
