I was transferred to Waypoint from Brockville Psychiatric Hospital, where I was ‘wrongfully’ there for over ten years because of a lying and incompetent Dr. Ahmed. I was in a self-defence fight where the aggressor said he was going to ‘slice me up with a knife’ and other present and future threats; he also charged at me repeatedly and assaulted me. Staff is completely disrespectful and show no care or remorse towards the patient's. They treat them like dogs and have no humain care for them. When you question them they become a power trip and disrespectful. This place kills patients morals and will. They do not help but destroy these patients day by day and lie to their family’s about incidents or basic hygiene.
To be honest, this wasn't a good welcoming place when I got there. When I entered my room, the desktop and floor were sticky in the little strict hallway area. Even when I have my shoes on, I can hear sticky noise when walking around in my room. I wish staff would clean it up after the patient is discharged. My paper that has rules on it almost got wrecked when I put it there; I had to put it on my towel so it wouldn't get ripped.
