We have been insured with Wawanesa for approximately 30 years without a claim. We were victims of the July 1st Ottawa flood and reported our flooded basement within an hour. The adjuster is next to impossible to get a response from. After many attempts of emailing and phone calls, she got back to me and authorized me to purchase 3 fans and 7 dehumidifiers to mitigate the damage because they didn't have a contractor who could address the emergency. We currently have a claim open from a storm 8 weeks ago. We lost part of our roof and our second floor flooded. The mitigation team they sent did an awful job. Claimed they went in our attic, they did not, now we have mold above our 7 month olds room, two rooms flooded and they only mitigated one. We send them an email, we wait 3 weeks for a reply. Our second floor has been ripped apart for months with next to no communication. At this point, I am extremely nervous at how long this will take.
I was scared to deal with insurance because i dont know alot but with the help of my adjuster Clairewin Cagulada and the puroclean restoration they made it so easy for me. Explained things thoroughly in words i understood. Gave me tips and tricks to help get through the process and how to do things. I was really impressed. Told me exactly how things were going to work and it was made even easier with digital technology and EFT. 10/10 to Claire with the CATASTROPHE dept that helped me!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
