I can't speak to insuring with Wawanesa, because we never got that far in the process. Even dealing with them to get a quote has been problematic and very frustrating. From the other reviews here, I can see that I dodged a bullet.
Absolutely shocking service. Wawanesa has been overcharging me for months for my rental property insurance. When I reached out, they responded “good thing we keep everything on file, we owe you over $900” I still have not received a refund and instead continue to be charged by them. The company owes me over $1000 now.
Terrible communication
One Star is far more than they deserve. A piece of advice... if you have a total loss claim, hire a lawyer right away. They will work for you at no cost until they recover funds for you from your Insurance company. Companies like Wawanesa will try to prolong your claim and eventually make it pass the 2 year mark from your date of loss at which point they can literally close your claim if you don't file a court action against them in Supreme Court. The worst company ever, they hire people with work permit in which they were subject to be deported meaning they were not hiring right adjusters to handle people’s insurance case, most of them are incompetent and unorganized. The staff turn over is every three months therefore as your case manager changes, your case procrastinate and delays. Terrible terrible company.
