Doctor Watkins ordered an AMA after negative fibro scan, and asked if I had any PCB symptoms. I didn't know what the symptoms were, but instead of telling me what they were, he noted that I didn't have them. He thought I had PCB and ordered a biopsy to confirm. That's the last I heard from him. I sent messaged through MyChart on 9.1 with follow up questions, and rec'd no response. I followed up via MyChart with no response. Had my 2nd colonoscopy, 1st with Dr. Watkins at CaroMont Health in Belmont. Honestly was concerned by the neg reviews too late to cancel my appt so understatedly stressed and nervous more than usual for the procedure. However, my experience was excellent from check-in to the nursing and support staff to the pre-op visit by Dr. Watkins who was perfectly reassuring and professional. Dr. Watkins performed a colonoscopy on me. Before the procedure, he came into the pre-op area and berated me for being there. My PCP had recommended the screening as it had been 5 years, but Dr. Watkins felt he should be condescending to me that they only have to be done every ten years. Furthermore, I believe he was unnecessarily rough with my body as evidenced by pain and discomfort in my lower abdomen for almost a week after the procedure (that I had not experienced in 2 prior colonoscopies over the past 15 years.) Dr Watkins has performed 2 procedures on me and I was pleased with his experience and performance, however, his office staff leaves a lot to be desired. They are not very friendly and billing is messed up. I will see him again but very disappointed in his office staff.
Our daughter has Crohns Disease and Dr. Watkins never ordered a Colonoscopy or any test to look inside. He wanted her on Prednisone every day and she was on it for a long time. She began to decline and we searched out another in Charlotte. Dr. who told us she needed surgery immediately. When the surgeon went in he found 3 huge pus pockets which burst and she had to be washed out inside or die. She was actually full of infection. I guess Dr. Watkins did not know this!
