We were forced to check out earlier than expected during our stay due to the hurricane. We received a message directly from Avari that stated that we had to check out by 12 on Thursday and that we would be receiving a refund for the unused days due to mandatory evacuation. I have attempted calling the main desk, the manager, as well as Avari directly with no avail. The weather was perfectly fine on Thursday and would have been perfectly fine leaving Friday. Waterscape will not give us a refund even though there’s a hurricane and mandatory evacuations. They’re sticking to their policy no exceptions!
Loved our trip here with our toddler. So many activities on a beautiful beach. They’re doing some construction but it rained a lot so it didn’t bug us. We also felt safe due to everyone wearing bands to walk through gates. Liked having a closed parking garage due to rain! The tiki bar was only open for a few hours on one day due to their system being down, and a bit pricey for the bar/food, but what we expected. Yummy food and things to do in the area!
Very intense smell throughout the halls and the parking situation is chaotic. Rooms were clean and well decorated.
I was pretty disappointed in the quality of our unit for the price we spent. There are black mold spots forming in the shower ceiling which is a serious health concern for anyone staying there. I've stayed in nicer cheap hotel beds than those. Half the night was spent pulling the sheets back onto the corners of the bed. Upon stripping the bedding there were stains on the pillows.
