I was "lent" to LP&L from HL&P back in 1980 for hot startup testing for a year. I found out that was the best part of Nuclear Plant Operations in general; everything else was so boring. The Start-Up Engineers at Waterford were very creative and fun to work with. Unfortunately, we only had a few of the same caliber back in Texas when I got back to start-up our plant. I found it ironic that I grew up in the small ag town of Taft, Texas, and that Louisiana is a fantastic state. I often return and "go down the bayous."

This does not concern the plant as much as some of its workers. One your associates, Ryan (didn’t catch his last name) and his family helped my wife and I this past Saturday 8/3/24. We were on a hiking in Oklahoma when my wife started having problems overheating despite drinking plenty of fluids. Ryan and his family not only stayed with us and prayed with us, but were able to contact the park rangers. The rangers got her out in a small utility vehicle and back to the top of the trail.
