Love this building and neighborhood! It cannot be beat!
We are moving out of the Watch Factory Lofts after 3 years, and have thoroughly enjoyed our time here! If you love history and old architecture (i.e. exposed brick, massive windows) you will enjoy this place immensely-our visitors have always said it feels like Hogwarts. Direct access to the Riverwalk, wonderful river views and access to the Upper Charles River Reservation trails. The watch factory lofts is a great place to live! Great staff team! Overall, a great experience.
The bad: Tried to raise our rent 14% after the first year after being repeatedly told by the agent who signed us that yearly price hikes would be minimal. To put a fine point on it: this level of rent increase after a year is considered illegal price gouging in some states. It is predatory *at best*. The roof leaked into a light fixture in the kitchen, which we alerted maintenance about several times, but they were unable to fix. We were drawn to the Watch Factory for the authenticity of both the building and the neighborhood, the responsiveness of the property management team, and the ability to get to so many places from this address. We were not disappointed. We were in town to support family who were here for medical reasons. Amazingly, the team at the Watch factory was able to house both sides of our family-one who needed a furnished apartment and the other who did not.
