I'm not sure how they have four stars... They are horrible to do business with. Not only do they not pick up trash as they are prepaid to do they also have a completely messed up bill payment process. I have been with this company for four years and have yet to see any improvement. I pay them every three months and every three months there is an issue of them processing the payment when I pay instead of when they feel like collecting the money. Sadly WFN took on this firm! They refused to invoice me to pick up my residential garbage. I had the money and wanted to pay them as this is the new company brought in with no alternatives to choose from. But...... because I would not give them a void cheque or my credit card number, they refused me service!!!!!! I pay $160 for water every 3 months and $4000 for property taxes to Westbank First Nations every year, (among other fees). I just paid $200 for admin fees to Lakeridge Park for God knows what? I had Progressive Waste a reasonable and good company until Waste Connections took over and it has been like dealing with the mafia. Not only the rates go up almost monthly despite the contract but if you don't pay what they want they hit you with late fees and collections. They are not trustworthy.

We have been a customer for over 10 years, and up until the last few months, we have had excellent service from Waste Connections (formally Progressive Waste); but they have become unreliable. The customer service folks are friendly and professional, so the problem must be with the driver, dispatch, and local management. I will be encouraging all of the customers along our route to switch to another company since they don't seem interested in servicing our account, although they have no problem taking our money each month. $... read more

All of my service has been on time. I pay a premium price for trash pick up and recycling. Upon review of a local trash service, I was quoted a price close to half what I am paying for Waste Connections. I called Waste Connections to find out the cancelling process. I was told they would price match their competitor. Even though the price is about half what they are charging me now. I don’t understand why on a morning like this one, when we are dealing with gale force winds, and all of the trash and recycling carts are laid over with their contents flying across the neighborhoods and towns, the drivers can’t take the extra 30 seconds to hop out and un-bungee the cart. All of our neighbors carts had spilled this morning so I made my teenage sons come out in the cold wind and pick it all up and place it in our own cart and then bungee it, so as to contain it. Waste Connections does not know how to treat their customers. For two weeks in a row everyone’s trash on my block has been picked up except for my house. When I call in the excuse is that there were too many cars and the truck could not get through. If that is the case then why is my neighbors trash picked up and they are right next to each other??? One of their trucks with an unsecured load dropped trash and debris on the highway breaking our windshield. When we called they said they have over 100 trucks and couldn't say for certain which truck it was. I am paying for my own windshield replacement and will advise others to not use a company that will not take care of its liabilities or accept responsibility for their damages.
