Ive been working with Dr. Fitz for 2 years since Ive been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. Unfortunetly, I was diagnosed at 40 but he has been working with me to help me understand the illness, recognize symptoms of a mood disorder and coping strategies. He also respects me and my privacy. He welcomes in your family which has been so helpful to get our lives back on track! Works wonders with kids with disabilities,ADHD or issues with attachment. Very skilled with FAS. He is a gentle man with a Mr Roger way to him- he keeps things flowing and makes life work for families that are in crisis. He does "Assign homework" and the follow thru keeps the child accountable for their part of seeking resolution. He makes life work for the entire family.
Dr. F. seems to really know his business but sometimes he comes off looking Arrogant and during a group session he essentially dressed down asomewhat needy patient in front of the entire group which really upset every one in the group. Despite that single incidence and occasional arrogant seeming manner he really is a committed, caring human being. I would see him again but probably not in a group.
