I have been struggling with TMJ for about 15 years now. When I was a 12ish I had braces put on my baby teeth and they pulled a couple of teeth to make sure my “adult” teeth will grow in straight.. they did not I still needed braces in my teen/adult years as well.. In 2020 , I was diagnosed with slipped discs. After spending nearly 30 grand for mouth devices that supposed to fix my tmj, my last so called tmj specialist told me I need to get a surgery. He told me i ve bone erosion, my discs are slipped which was horrible according to him. Sent me to his friend who does not take insurance and surgery will cost nearly $60,000. What a nightmare. I am in pain in my jaw and it is causing vertigo. I was referred to Dr. Warburton for a joint replacement and called first to see if they took my insurance before my orthodontist sent over my records which they said they did, but when I called for scheduling I was told Dr. Warburton wasn’t accepting new patients but a resident doctor in the office could see me, with Dr. Warburton supervising and so I made the appointment which the first available was 6 months out. I can't speak for Dr. Warburton himself but his office staff is HORRIBLE! I waited over a week for a call back to make an appointment then I finally called the office again. After being put on hold numerous times I was told that Dr. Warburton has to agree to take a case after reviewing everything (totally understandable) but they "know" that even though I had a referral etc they wouldn't make an appointment for him to review everything because they "knew" he wouldn't take the case to try somewhere else. Dr. Warburton and his team were excellent through the whole process. When I had a question about my surgery, a resident called me back right away to explain. I had TMJ arthroscopy and my discs repositioned - wounds, which were super tiny, are almost completely healed in less than a week.
