I only post reviews when I am beyond happy with a product or company... 6 years ago I bought some cheap hammock and realized that this was the way to enjoy trekking and bikepacking, without waking up with a sore back in a hot tent. I spent a year choosing my new hammock. For several years, I used the DD Hammocks Frontline and really fell in love with hammock camping. That’s why I decided to invest in new gear. I watched what felt like hundreds of YouTube videos to get a clear idea of what to buy, from whom, and what accessories to include. In the end, I chose Warbonnet Outdoors, and it was absolutely the right decision. I have been sleeping in my Ridgerunner as a nightly in house sleeping arrangement since I purchased it when Warbonnet first came out with the Ridgerunner. I think it has been around 10 years now. I am very satisfied with the durability, comfort, and quality. I have retired it and replaced it with a newer Ridgerunner.
Extremely satisfied with my Blackbird XLC hammock and my interactions with Warbonnet. As someone who has struggled with back issues, this reopened the outdoors for me!
If you are just getting into hammock camping, skip the cheap seats. Buy once, cry once these guys are the real deal. World class outdoors gear and some of the best customer service I’ve ever received. Cottage companies like this who handmake their products with attention to detail and expert craftsmanship are few and far between anymore, can’t put a price on a good night’s sleep.
