Had to preorder the Blackbird XLC Gen3 Heavyweight Double Layer because the Ocean Blue color variant I wanted was out of stock, but it was absolutely worth the wait. The quality is stellar and doesn't even compare to the cheap stuff you get off Amazon. It’s super easy to put up and down and a joy to hang. The ridgerunner hammock has transformed backpacking for me. I love knowing that at the end of a long hike I will always be treated to 8 or 9 hours of sleep. Wonderful product!
I only post reviews when I am beyond happy with a product or company... 6 years ago I bought some cheap hammock and realized that this was the way to enjoy trekking and bikepacking, without waking up with a sore back in a hot tent. I spent a year choosing my new hammock. For several years, I used the DD Hammocks Frontline and really fell in love with hammock camping. That’s why I decided to invest in new gear. I watched what felt like hundreds of YouTube videos to get a clear idea of what to buy, from whom, and what accessories to include. In the end, I chose Warbonnet Outdoors, and it was absolutely the right decision. I have been sleeping in my Ridgerunner as a nightly in house sleeping arrangement since I purchased it when Warbonnet first came out with the Ridgerunner. I think it has been around 10 years now. I am very satisfied with the durability, comfort, and quality. I have retired it and replaced it with a newer Ridgerunner.
