Wangat Lodge is such a special place! An awesome communal space for a large group, tucked in natural bush. A great story of eco restoration and beautiful sense of community.
Went to the Friends of Wangat Family Camp for summer 2025 with my son and grandson. This is a uniquely crafted experience of the natural Australian ecosystems as they occur around the Barrington Tops. I enjoyed it all - lots of wildlife, nourishing food, inclusive play for all ages, wisdom about the bush and ecology. I came away with a strange felt sense that my peripheral vision had been widened. Melia Cottage stay - small family sized rustic cottage with simple all you need facilities. Surrounded by bush, stunning river and swimming holes. Night time frog pond adventures for the kids. Great location and relaxed calm feel.

My brothers and I had an absolutely amazing little holiday here. Dan was such an incredibly kind, generous and patient host, and the surrounding bush land and swimming holes were so special. We are all now counting the days until we can come back to Wangat lodge. 10/10!
