Had a late birthday dinner here and it was absolutely fantastic! Great service paired with perfect food and drinks. We will definitely be going back sooner than later.
I visited Walla Walla Steak Co twice during my trip to Walla Walla, which probably says a lot about how much I enjoyed it! On my first visit, I walked in without a reservation and found out they were completely booked. Fortunately, I was able to grab a seat at the bar and was helped by Stacy. Totally "OVERPRICED!" The 18oz. Ribeye was less than average at best. $200 for just my wife & I. Definitely have eaten better steaks at Texas Roadhouse where we're from; for less than 1/2 this price. The Ribeye was smashed thin like a pancake. They charge a 20% service charge & for a $200 meal that's like an extra $40. They should offer food quality refunds to offset the ridiculous 20% charges. The service was decent, but the food quality is poor for what they charge. We should've went and ate Thai food like we planned to.
All aspects of our dining experience were great. The only area that bothers me was the built in 20% tip which forces you to accept it regardless of service. Maybe an insider a 15% tip and let the remainder be. The diners choose. We tend to be more than 20% tippers when service and food is great but let us make that decision.
We were seated in the conductor's room where the chairs and tables were from the local churches potluck settings. We were there on the Saturday of Memorial day weekend and they ran out of all 3 sizes of the filet mignon- a steakhouse that runs out of steak??? Instead I ordered the next most reasonable size of beef on the menu, 10 oz prime rib- it was average at best. It took over an hour to get our meal.
