Highly recommend WakeMed Downtown! I had a new patient appointment with Heather and she was incredibly kind, patient, and eager to help develop a plan for me and my concerns. I could tell she genuinely cared and was taking my concerns seriously which was reassuring. The front desk staff I interacted with, Steve & Seth, were very friendly and checked me in/out in no time and made me feel welcome. I have been coming to this location for over a year now. Dr Rayala has been my primary care from day one and he has always been there for me everytime I’ve come in. He takes the time to listen and he makes you feel heard. He truly cares about his patients I can feel that for sure. Good doctors like him are hard to come by these days and I am so glad that he is my doctor! I love this office, I love my NP Heather. She has been there for me so much over the last year and I consider the absolute best!
Would not recommend this location solely because of Steven at the front desk who was extremely rude, unprofessional, and on some sort of power trip. I arrived for my appointment 15 mins early (annual physical) and when checking in Steven said I was a new patient. I said I was not, I was a patient at the Wake Med Oberlin location and was only at this location because I could not get in for over a month at my regular practice.
