I recently had a surgical procedure performed by Dr. Brandon Roy at the Wake Med facility on New Bern Avenue in Raleigh. I was a day patient and it was my first time time for surgery. It was considered a minor procedure, I guess. In my mind, it was a very big deal. I was in the hospital for about only 5 hours. I was driven home. And since then I have not had any issues. My follow-up visit was quick and easy, as Dr. Roy is a caring doctor and a true gentleman. He answers questions completely. Wake Med's surgical nursing team ... read more

I recently had a frustrating experience with my post-surgery appointment. I was told my appointment was at 8:20 a.m., but received a message stating 8:00 a.m.. When I called to confirm, I was told they list an earlier time to ensure patients arrive early. However, because it was 8:07 and I hadn’t arrived yet, they canceled my appointment entirely. I really hope that you all fix the general surgery room a little better instead of a pillow I would think something more comfortable to put your head down especially if the surgery is on your neck. Something like a massage table with a hole at the ... read more

Dr. Brandon Roy at WakeMed Surgery Center provided exceptional care during both my gallbladder removal in August and my Nissen fundoplication surgery in October. He took the time to thoroughly explain both procedures, addressing all of my concerns with patience and clarity. His staff was equally outstanding—kind, attentive, and highly professional. Anytime I had questions post-surgery, they responded promptly and followed up multiple times to ensure my recovery was progressing well. I highly recommend Dr. Roy and his team fo... read more

I had a wonderful experience in WakeMed’s day surgery center. Every staff member bent over backward to ensure I was comfortable and thoroughly informed (and I had lots of questions!!). The nurses and anesthesia team were top notch!
