Great views on the Northern sky's. Easy parking as to not obstruct others views and eyes.
Very dark skies, two large telescopes. 1. The Brashear 11-Inch Refractor: A historically significant telescope originally built by John Brashear in 1910 2. The Manka Memorial 21-Inch Newtonian Reflector: A large reflecting telescope with a rotating secondary cage. Both are open to the public during their very popular star parties. During these star parties, you will possibly find other amateurs telescopes set up in the surrounding fields.
If you hike take the off shoot to go look or even incorporate the white blaze into red and go look. The view is amazing esp after a great snow. I've never been for the "observatory" stuff. I hike up in there sunrise sunset...its just gorgeous. Doggo (rip) my boy Brody used to love it. He would get a short breather from the leash while hiking (he DID rustle a coyote I don't think it's up there anymore.
