I love to frequent waffles houses all over the south and absolutely love the style of food and atmosphere generally. Today was my 2nd time attempting to eat at this location and both times have had absolutely disgusting service. This morning we ordered a light chocolate chip waffle with side of bacon plus a sweet tea and a breakfast chicken plate with water to drink. I love WH, but I will absolutely not be coming back to this one. This is my second time there and I was every bit of disappointed as the first. We got our food (after a good bit of waiting in the almost-empty restaurant) and the waitress asked if we needed anything else. I told her our drinks. The food was overcooked. The tea was the same color as the syrup (no exaggeration) and tasted soapy. I didn't even to get to leave before I needed the bathroom. God, this Waffle House. Clean. Finally something that doesn’t smell like a bus station’s back alley. Staff? Actually helpful, which is shocking, I know. Waffles? Better than the ones in Baltimore where the grease was so thick, I thought I’d been served a de facto sculpture. Oh, and the wait time? Less than 5 minutes. For waffles.
