Walked into Waffle House for dinner and unknowingly crossed the threshold into a surreal social experiment about patience. I sat down, and after 3–5 business days a confused young man appeared like a substitute teacher on his first day and took my order. He then gently explained it might be a while… because the cook had just walked out mid-shift, presumably to pursue a quieter life in the mountains. Food was great and Michelle was super nice :)
I absolutely love their hashbrowns with extra cheese and onions! The server was really nice and helpful but the cook was the Rockstar this night! I am a vegetarian but they only have one grill so I asked the cook, Robert, if he would mind just scraping off the right side of the grill where they cook the hashbrowns so that no meat grease would get on my hashbrowns and if he would use clean spatulas too.
