On Sunday, September 28th, around 4 p.m., I ducked into a Waffle House as a tropical storm began to roll in. With few other options available, the promise of quick service and familiar comfort food made Waffle House the logical choice. I went to this WH not because I wanted to but it was walking distance from my hotel. Big mistake. I should have driven somewhere else. At this WH the waitress was prompt and friendly and the place was not busy but that's where it ends. The AC was blasting cold wind everywhere, the menu was limited and the prices were over the top. My order (2 eggs, home fries, sausage, toast @ $12.00, yup $12.00 + tx/tip) was entirely under cooked, including home fries and toast and borderline raw, except for the dried out sausage patty.
