We've had several dogs through out the years. Decided with our new puppy to switch to Wachusett Animal Hospital because it's closer to our home. We used to go to Central Animal Hospital in Leominster and they are amazing. What a joke this place is. It's all about the money and they could care less about your pet!! If you care about your pet please stay away!! For an emergency it's $150 to walk through the door and they won't even take a look at you animal until it's paid!!

Pet Retreat experience: My dog has been going to a place for 3-4 years, loves it, and all the pups! I forgot to schedule her so I had to find an alternative place. I tried here. Not only did they claim she lunged aggressively at another dog during thier eval, but I of course, wasn't there to see it; this would be extremely out of character for her. IF it happened as suggested, there must have been a reason out of the norm, or perhaps staff not entirely educated beyond textbook, about dogs' behaviors, because this has never h... read more

Horrible experience! My mother had a very sick dog that she asked me take to a dog ER. Tufts was full and directed us to Wachusett Animal hospital. We were on route to my mother house and called the hospital to make sure we would be seen as we had about 90 minutes before we arrived. I spoke to someone to let them know we were coming and to make sure we would be seen. I even told her we would be arriving around 9. She said that as long as we were there before 10, when they closed, it would be fine. We arrived at 9:15, ... read more

Avoid pet retreat. Staff are rude and uncaring to pets. Manager was condescending to me and told me I didn’t understand animal behavior.

Thank you so much, being there for us! I don’t know what I would’ve done otherwise. My pup (Daisy) was well cared for, treated appropriately for her condition, and specific follow up instructions were provided. I adhered to the recommendation that I have an echocardiogram performed on Daisy ASAP, and had it done the afternoon of the morning I picked her up from Wachusett. It was followed up by a cardiologist consult, and with her now stabilized and on proper medication, I am hopeful that Daisy’s life will be extended (I’ll t... read more

This place is the worst place to bring your pets. All they care about is the money and not the animal. Westford or Tufts is a better shot to save your pet. Wachusett should be shut down! And you have to put in a rating so I put 1 but I would of put nothing.

I would avoid this place at all cost! I don't know what happened they used to be so professional and nice! We took our Cat there recently because he was very ill....First we had to pay 100 and some dollars so our baby could be checked in and checked out by Dr.We did that and We got a call The Dr said he didn't look well at all and that she checked his belly and that he had a Mass and that he was suffering and she reccomented putting him down! Mind you all he was doing was resting not crying or acting like he ... read more
