The negative reviews here are actually quite accurate. Our experience mirrored them almost exactly. Overall it didn’t fit the ‘W’ brand and we have stayed at many. This felt like an overpriced 3/4 star hotel. It was evident the venue was put together on a shoe string budget. The rooms felt cheap. Bathrooms are too dark, so no good for makeup (and dark hair, never thought that would be a problem). As a freshly minted Platinum member of Marriott-Bonvoy, we decided to stay here for 2-nights celebrating my birthday. We appreciated the chocolates left in our room upon arrival as well as being upgraded to a very nice, spacious room on the 25th floor with sweeping views of Darling Harbour. As this hotel doesn't have a Club Lounge, we were offered complimentary drinks and breakfast. Staff, especially those at BTWN, were all very friendly and helpful.
