W. M. Keck Observatory features two of the world s largest optical, near-infrared telescopes, at the more than 4,000-meter summit of Mauna Kea in Hawaii. At the center of each 10-meter Keck telescope is a primary mirror composed of more than 30 hexagonal segments that work together as a single piece of reflective glass. Top of the World, profound. 4x4 required, but don’t recommend a Wrangler.
Highly recommend getting a guided tour to the top. Being above the clouds is something that should be experienced. Bundle up though, it's cold up there!
