Very dismissive. I told him that I have had allergy symptoms at the same times of year my whole life. I can’t dust the house without getting sick. He told me I have acid reflux, and sent me on my way.
I am a veterinarian and have been through my fair share of human medical specialists, from allergists to neurologists to endocrinologists. I have suffered with chronic urticaria from a very young age, and horrible flares tend to come on at the most inopportune times and can be extremely difficult to get under control. I went late because I confused my time for the first time In my whole doctors visit. I had to waited for the nurse 30 minutes just for told me I lost my appointment. I already knew it. And I m agree it was my fault. But I'm post surgery's patient and I had other post surgery. It was not compassion from the nurse. If I was not in my appointment schedule I'm pretty sure they took another patient from the waiting room. Nice guy, seems to know the medicine side of things, but it's impossible to get a hold of someone in the department, and you need to follow up on things that they are doing so they get done. I've now had to make three reminders to get an Rx filled and am still waiting on it. Thank goodness my allergy needs are just seasonal, if you have more serious needs I would 110% go elsewhere. Also, the last time I called I asked for allergy and immunology and they directed me to some medicaid office. Way to go Ochsner.
