The owner is crotchety, but he truly knows his business, and he's honest. I've taken stuff to him for more than 20 years, and he's always done the job right, reasonable and on time. Treat him like a gentleman, and he'll reciprocate.

My OLD lawnmower started blowing smoke. I looked on-line, saw some of the poor reviews, but decided to call anyway. When I spoke to him, the owner gave me some suggestions as to what to check before bringing it in for him to evaluate. He stated what he would charge to look at my mower and gave me his thoughts as to what to consider in determining whether my mower should be repaired or just be replaced. I talked to the owner about getting some warranty work done on my push lawn mower and he told me that it might not be warranty work but he would take a look at it and let me know. A week or two later I finally have the chance to take it over to him and he tells me that he doesn't do warranty work at all. So we go back and forth about why his answer is different in person than it was on the phone and long story short, he ends up walking away from me and telling me to find another shop.
