Called the day before to make sure that they would be open. Spent $25 on a Lyft to get there and find that they were closed for a private party. Spent another $25 to get home. Grrrrr.

My friends and I dined here on a Monday night and unfortunately had a pretty disappointing experience. Our server was consistently inattentive throughout the meal. We had to flag her down every time we needed something rather than having her check on us. She never asked how we liked our drinks, never checked whether anyone wanted another round, and I had to ask multiple times just to get our water glasses refilled. From 2013 - 2020, my husband and I would go to Marvel bar for date night. We've been looking for a new date night spot and Volstead House provides that. I had an Old Fashion which was ok. I also had a Lions Tail. The Lions Tail was really, really good. I really like an Oak n Shield. Volstead House's Lions Tail is a sweeter version. It was incredibly good. The best part of Volstead House is that we don't have to try to find parking in Minneapolis to enjoy a date night and they have really good drinks.
