Buying Local Pays Off We also bought a kitchen of appliances. We purchased the extended warranties. The guarantee stated that if did not need service during the 5 year warranty period we would get an in store credit. We did get an in store credit and we used it towards our new front load washer. We did have to produce the guarantee certificate at the time we redeemed it. I think you had to use the credit within 90 days or something of the 5 year warranty ending. Love our new laundry Volkmanns rocks. We bought a pair the new high efficiency laundry but our laundry room wasn't ready yet. Volkmanns held our new laundry for 3 weeks then delivered and set them up for us. Very professional delivery crew. So many others store would only drop the laundry in our driveway. Great to have it hooked up and ready to use. When we get our kitchen remodel done this summer we' re going to Volkmanns.
misleading sales practices Misleading offer of store credit if extended warranty not used. 3 major appliances. Did not receive warranty, when I complained I was told don't worry, we'll take care of you. BS! Pat informed me they were mislead and I was incorrectly told there would be a credit for non use of warranty. They didn't clearly understand the terms. So even though they misinformed me the customer loses. Shame on them! No advantage to buying from a local business, next time I'll just go to a big box store!
Small-town service, not what it's cracked up to be...nothing but problems...over charged what we agreed on...owner unavailable...Deirdra unwilling to quote simple prices...service men who install a range, that doesn't work ( never even checked), then they want us to wait another five days til they get someone out there...I dropped over $ 4,000 on new appliances...then there was the warehouse fire that destroyed my fridge ( the one reordered already, because the first one got busted-up en route)...It's a calamity of errors wi... read more

Once they make the sale, you are on your own. We have had our Samsung washer and dryer for less than four years and already have to replace it (first repair was within two years). They do not stand behind what they sell so if you can go to a big box store and get it cheaper.....do it.
My Maytag ice maker was leaking water. I couldn't see any reason. I called Volkmann's and the man that answered asked if I had recently replaced the water filter. I had. He said that can introduce air into the system and suggested I run 4 gallons of water through the water dispenser to bleed out the air. So far, that seems to be the cure. And, even if it isn't, I'm very impressed with a store that suggests something I can do, even though it costs them a service call. This is the place to go when shopping for appliances. Unlike the big box stores, these people know their products! They are a pleasure to work with. I know that when I come in the store that I won't be sold any JUNK! They carry quality appliances that will last for years. Their delivery and install folks are pleasant and do a great job.
