As a trans person, this clinic made me feel disrespected and unseen. I never gave my name at the start of the phonecall — the staff member pulled it from my health card, then immediately used my dead name without asking what I go by. No effort to confirm or show respect, just a careless assumption. To make it worse, he assumed the appointment was for my “wife,” despite me never mentioning one. I don’t have a wife.
