Nothing but assisted suicide; not by the patient but by a hospice (like all of them) that are paid for by the insurance companies who are tired of paying. It’s a hidden crime happening all over the Cape. Families deciding not for the care of the family patient but looking out for $$$. And VNA morphine is to blame for many deaths, “compassion kit” they call it, they recommend it even to people who do not want it, who do not need it. Pathetic.
VNA of Cape Cod Hospice is by far the worst managed organization ever. At a time when we needed compassion and care we were assigned a nurse manager that we never met because she was either on vacation or “out” and a social worker that was on vacation. We got an aide one time to help with a shower and never saw anyone else. Needless to say we discharged from there after my husband fell three times in one day and we were told by the on-call that”we aren’t going to move in with you.” Stay far away from this Cape Cod Healthcare... read more
The therapists are wonderful, but that does not outweigh how useless the nursing staff is. If you require a visiting nurse, good luck!
Funds from sales go to support the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) and their important work to support hospice care. VNA staff have provided care to several of my family members; absolutely invaluable professional service. . At the store, the VNA staff have been courteous, professional and welcoming; it's really an amazing operation. I have been donating clothes and household items for years, and continue to do so. We had a very bad experience with an unprofessional ...cold and apathetic social worker named Kerrie today...making our experience taking care of our dying mother so much more stressful and upsetting...shame on you Kerrie...your job is to help..not make things worse.
