Great chowder! – We had a party of 8 there for lunch a few weeks ago. They serve great chowder, nice salads, and fresh sourdough, all pretty quickly and with no fuss. It's a good place to take kids, as it's not fancy or stuffy. And take the server's advice and try the garlic-parmesan bread. It's to die for! A great place to eat, non-tourist prices (you'll save over $3 on a bowl of chowder as compared to restaurants on Cannery Row!). We're locals, and this is our favorite spot for chowder. Enjoy!
Best Chowder and Seafood On The Monterey Peninsula! Good food, friendly service, casual atmosphere! – We visit Pacific Grove several times a year from San Diego, Ca. Lookin for Lunch – I had my mystery book and was looking forward to a nice fish lunch getaway. Sunny day good mood I decide on one of my long time favorites THE CHOWDER HOUSE. One oclock..one two tables finishing and leaving I am the only customer. I wait almost 5 minutes and finally the waiter asked if I need help. i say yes I would like a menu and coffee. Great chowder, french fries, and sandwich – My husband was visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium when we found this lovely restaurant. We both ordered the 1/2 soup, 1/2 sandwich lunch and loved our meals. The soup was excellent as was the sandwiches that we ate. The fries that came with our orders were also very tasty. We would go back next time we're in the area.
Awesome Chowder – Every time I come into Monterey I have to go to Vivolo's. Though we have the wharf and many other chowder places in Monterey, I have to say that Vivolo's is the best by far.
Best Chowder in Monterey – My family and I love the chowder and sandwiches. The service is always excellent.
