If I could give zero stars, I would. Save yourself the headache and do not do business with Vivint. ​Getting signed up with them is easy, but trying to cancel your service is an absolute nightmare. When you call to cancel an out-of-contract account with zero balance, they transfer you to a retention department whose sole job is to wear you down until you give up. ​The agent I spoke with was extremely pushy, kept trying to sell me alternative offers I explicitly said I didn't want, and refused to accept "no" for an answer. The technology is always improving. They have our best interest in mind and went out of their way to do it right even though the originally planned installer became ill that morning. Another individual came out and they still got it done that day. Very pleased.

I've been with Vivint for about 4 years. Equipment bought and paid for. I wanted to cancel my monitoring service and all cs reps did was what they were trained to do. Keep pushing sales and refuse to cancel my service. I did a little research and learned that legally they have to honor my request if I sent it in writing, which they won't tell you. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. From the start, you’re locked into a contract that feels impossible to escape. Pushy sales tactics, overpriced equipment, and once you’re in, you’re stuck. Even after paying thousands, the equipment feels useless without their ongoing monitoring fees. It feels like you’re trapped on a bus with no exits. I honestly felt misled and stuck in an arrangement that benefits them way more than the customer. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

I had Vivant for 10 years and did several equipment upgrades over that time. I rarely used the system so decided to cancel it. One of the upgrades included the doorbell camera. They have refused to return my doorbell back to the original chime mounted in the house as I don't have an active account with them. The rest of the system was just OK at best. The door lock eats batteries like crazy. 4 AA batteries a quarter. The window sensors farthest from the panel lose connection all the time and this causes the batteries to fail... read more
