If I could give Vitas more than 5 stars I would. Because there are absolutely no words that can cover the love and care my husband received during his last days at the Vitas Inpatient Unit in Rockledge Florida. The Hospice Care Center is immaculate. The rooms are private and very pleasant. Staying in the room overnight with your loved one is welcomed and comfortable. The staff at Vitas are all super wonderful. They were all so caring, thoughtful to my brother while he was at their facility con Rockledge. This is a wonderful place , it is so very clean, Dr Peterson and Dr Bennett are wonderful, caring and knowledgeable. They take time to explain what your love one is going through and what he’s facing going forward. They take time to help family get the best help and care the patient needs and also his caregiver. After having an absolutely horrible experience with Weusthoff Hospice, I called Vitas Hospice for my Dad. I am a nurse and it was such a relief for my Dad to get such expert care, I have to say Perfect care from the in-patient nurses and Drs. (Colleen,Erin, Laura, Dr. Faridani and all). If you are reading this I know you are going through the worst time. Vitas took away all the fighting I had to do to get proper care for my Dad. Rude and impatient staff! The story is long but we wanted my mom to die at home and begged the hospital to make that happen. We get here to VITAS and the place is run down, the room is hot, the couch is filthy and the staff was not what we were expecting. The toilet looks like it hasn’t been cleaned and the pictures are from when we got here (no one had used the bathroom). We are still trying to get her home but don’t bring your loved ones here
