My mom Betty had been in hospice care with Vitas for about a year. They were very much involved in my mom’s daily care and watched over her as if she was their mom! Her nurse/ case manager Tammy was the best. She kept me well informed and was always available to answer any question I had. I can not say enough good things about her nurses. Carolynne, Faour, Justin and aide Danielle all played an integral part in mom’s care. Vitas has been wonderful to my father and family, we are receiving exceptional care from Ben and Sim, who make my father feel comfortable and cared for.
I'm a professional caregiver and often need help with physical tasks for my client. Rubie Patino has been so helpful and a pleasure to work with. She is fast, super efficient and she clearly cares a great deal about the quality of her work and the quality of life of my client. She always shows up and dives in with a fun and positive attitude. I hope to continue working with her and the team at Vitas!
Social workers Chanel and Angela, and Chaplain Laura, were very helpful and supportive. However, I must say the overall hospice experience with Vitas was subpar, in that #1-they did not see that someone was at my mother's bedside 24/7; #2- she died alone; and #3- they did not fulfill my one request which was for someone to call me as soon as they saw signs of imminent death, so that I could drive over there any hour of the night to be with her.
