Been with Vitas about two years now for my mom and I haven’t change this company because of the Nurse and Aid that comes to see mom, they are excellent. But this is about to change soon cause mom’s nurse announced that she’s was going to quit few weeks in advance and they supposed to have a plan and another nurse that supposed to substitute her and they just called stating that they don’t have nurse for mom. For at least the 4th time in 2 months, my father in laws scheduled bathing was canceled. They don't have enough staff apparently. So my husband and I did their job for them. This is how they treat such vulnerable patients? If you don't have the staff, STOP TAKING ON PATIENTS until you are properly staffed! My father in law only gets a bath 2 times a week as it is! We clean him as best we can in between but THIS IS WHAT THEY ARE BEING PAID FOR. Get your act together VITAS. Very very poor patient care in this area of service. ... read more

Edited to update : Investigation was quick .. allegations were denied by the nurse so she got a stern talking to and education ! So now she can do it again to someone else . Way to go on the care for seniors !! Can’t even give them a 1 star but have to so I can write this review ! Our nurse didn’t want the job to begin with when she refused to insert a foley … then when she did insert one against her will and the managers she used hand sanitizer for antiseptic and Vaseline from my bedroom drawer ( disgusting ) .. Can’t even give them a 1 star but have to so I can write this review ! Our nurse didn’t want the job to begin with when she refused to insert a foley … then when she did insert one against her will and the managers she used hand sanitizer for antiseptic and Vaseline from my bedroom drawer ( disgusting ) .. This nurse should not have a license to care for anyone after that .. he died 12 days later after being in ICU for 6 days . I am in contact with an attorney over this . Pure NEGLIGENCE ON HER AND THE COMPANY !

Horrible experience. They sold us a song and dance about the care would get They hardly check on the patient and let the family do all the work. Do not use them
