READ THIS. Cons: The sauna feels unsanitary and is always packed with sweaty men. I have yet to see a woman in there. The annex across the street really needs extended hours. The main gym has a strong foot smell throughout the space and equipment, which makes the environment feel unhygienic. It seems like a perfect place to pick up athletes foot. The staff are friendly, though they mostly stay behind the desk and you check yourself in. Thank god for the classes - tho a majority of them are full. Sorry, I wish I could be more... read more

I love the gym but it’s too packed and restoon are under designed. AC it’s gonna kill you in the summer and in the winter. Not sure why we can’t have an ac system that works well. The fact that they didn’t tell you that they charge for towel or other stuff is unacceptable. still the best of Vital gym for me

2 big frustrations recently 1. The annual climbing competitions: vital will close the entire gym for the competitions with minimal notice on-site outside marketing. Usually see many many people being turned away on these days. They dont keep separate side areas or gym equipment open except the annex. Additionally the competition routes are usually up for far too long. They aren't normally graded and usually aren't mixed with other routes, leaving those walls underutilized. 2. Love Vital. My family goes to both Lower East Side and Williamsburg location. Both amazing spots. I would give the edge to Williamsburg because of the kids area, sauna, outdoor wallsoutdoor walls with a view, and the greater selection of routes. LES holds it's own. Very elevated atmosphere. My only request would be that in the LES location they put up some routes for kids. I get that they want to keep a young professional vibe but I think if they did something small and integrated with the other routes they can keep the vibe... read more
