We got here at 11:40. Immediately got into a room which was great. 1 1/2 goes by and someone comes in to collect insurance info. After 2 1/2 hours the doctor comes in and says oh we have to ask a specialist from the other hospital to come in let me call them now and then leaves. He was in here for 2 seconds. (instead of calling them 2 1/2 hours ago). We had to find the nurse to come help us, and she was annoyed scrolling on social media. My 84 year old mom came over in an ambulance; I came with her in the ambulance and was directed to the waiting area until someone came for me to go back with her; I waited 2 and half hours before that happened. They were busy I could see; all I can say is that the same level of care should be evident whether it is busy or not, no need for details. God Willing we never have to come back.
I was seen in the ER in early October for a cat bite. All the staff was wonderful, from the front desk, to the nurses, to the doctor. I was seen in a timely manner and everyone was friendly and helpful. The in-person experience was great. The only reason why I'm giving 4 stars is because of worker's compensation and finances. I went to a different Virtua in the past and had a similar issue. Both times, I gave the staff my worker's comp info but then I still got a bill in the mail saying I owe tens of thousands of dollars. 99 yr old mother brought in by ambulance. I met over there after dr did quick assessment and blood was drawn. 5 hrs later dr appears to release. Nurse would not take her to bathroom which was down hall and had me do it without a walker or wheelchair or asking if I needed help. She was almost knocked over by a nurse or dr in a rush to sit back at the desk and too impatient to wait for an elder to struggle to walk.
