I am normally pleased with the care I receive from Virtua, however, this time I am completely disappointed and disgusted by the treatment I received. I was in pain and pregnant. I waited for over an hour before Dr. Goldstein came in. He spent less than 5 mins with me and never seen him again. A muse named Dianne (at least think she was a nurse) came in with pills and water told me to take them. I asked her were they safe for my baby and her response shocked me. First of all - the nurses and staff were awesome. “Dr” Heron was the rudest, worst er dr I’ve ever had. And I’ve been in and out of hospitals for autoimmune issues for 20+ years now. He was dismissive, cold, and this is the 3 day progression from him doing an ultrasound Iv on me. I am a hard stick and almost always need an ultrasound placed IV. I had a great experience in this emergency department today. I had an intense migraine that has only worsened over the past few days, resulting in cyclic emesis and syncope this morning. The admission secretary and registrar were very kind, and my nurse Michelle and Dr. Filart were incredible. I often struggle with not receiving the level of care I need (unless I am actively vomiting or fainting in the facility) due to the invisible nature of my chronic migraine disability, but that was not my experience here. Yesterday, I had an accident where I hit my nail very hard and I decided to go the emergency room to get it looked at because I thought my nail bed completed disconnected so I went to this location. After I was admitted, we (my husband and I) were placed directly across from the doctors consultation office.
