One of the worst auctions I have ever seen, the items are literally trash you can find it on the streets, they raise the prices from fake accounts to get to even more than the retail price, I don't understand why would a know university like VT work with this unprofessional scam website. For those who are looking for cheap prices and good deals check Nellis Auction or Mac bid Auction!
The surplus staff is a well-oiled machine! You win an item in the almost-monthly VT surplus auction (through Matthews Auctioneers) and pick up is within the following few days! Don't forget to have your "bidder number" ready!!
Too good to be true- I took a chance and purchased an Apple iPad mini through the auction. 1st generation and most apps are no longer supported. Battery lasted about 6 hours in standby. I guess there is a reason they don’t list any details on the auction. Lesson learned.
Got a laptop from the auction that I was assured was wiped and worked great. Get it home and it won't run or reboot. Tried to run diagnostics and I need a password, if it was wiped why do I need a password? Just yet another let down from Virginia Tech and their "wannabe brainiacs!" Don't take anyone's word for anything at that auction!
