Had a horrible racist experience here, manager was our server and the entire time she was very rude and spoke to us in a rough tone then was extremely welcoming to all the white customers. It was something my entire family immediately agreed on. She kept making passive aggressive comments and when we asked her if she had an issue she answered no you just don’t wanna eat here. Me, my son and my husband went here and had an amazing time. The food was authentic Italian and had great demonstration. Although the portion sizes were a bit less than expected.
Nice ambience and service, but mediocre food (especially considering the price). Of the 3 items we ordered, the beet salad was actually probably the best. Cool to get the fettucine straight from the wheel but other than that the taste wasn’t really there, everything was overpowered by the Asiago cheese. And the butternut squash ravioli was simply bland, none of the flavours really came through. While I appreciate the complimentary bread and birthday dessert, the food was really quite disappointing.
I’ve been going to Violin for the past eight years, and it has stayed consistently excellent even after expanding. The food is always full of flavour, and you can really tell their sauces and creams are made in-house from scratch. I’ve tried many Italian restaurants across Ontario and Alberta, but Violino is one I confidently keep coming back to.
