They say here that the new rules are that “they don’t see you until after a certain amount of weeks” which is a lie because I have been seeing my new OB since I was just 6 weeks pregnant. I met her once and she didn’t seem very interested at all, she just told me to send her all the paperwork & labs from my previous Dr and that I had a “pass” not to see her for that appointment. I’ve been seeing Dr. Maldonado for a few years now. She is very patient. She pays attention and allows me the time I need with her. I am extremely happy with her as my doctor.
Dr. Maldonado took me on as a patient when I was already five months pregnant with zero prenatal care (it was during COVID, and I had been out of town dealing with the loss of my father). She was extremely attentive and flexible. During the actual birth I felt listened-to and cared for. I had my first child at a fancy hospital with a lot of expensive equipment in Minnesota, and my experience here in El Paso was better by far.
Worst experience ever, please go somewhere else. My appointment was at 9:30am, they had me waiting for ONE HOUR AND 30 MINUTES. The woman (who is Hispanic, and today was wearing black scrubs) was really insensitive. I don’t know why they make you schedule appointments at certain times if they are not going to be respected. The kindest person were the receptionists, that’s it. I didn’t get medical attention at all. Please, find a differed provider. Never coming back again, and never recommending this place.
I want to start by saying that I truly appreciate and trust my doctor. She has always been kind, compassionate, and professional, and my experience with her care has been very positive. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was very upsetting because of the staff member who performs the intake questions (Ivonne). This appointment was scheduled as a follow-up related to a pregnancy.
