To walk in and just smell this place All the 100 year old machinery huge Bridgeport drills is one part of the aroma you smell hi octane gas oil and Leather. Now to the visual. There are rare cars EVERYWHERE on the ground Up on lifts parts floating from the ceilings the pictures and articles of real European race cars from the 30s and 40s. Yves and his team run a very unique shop, specializing in unusual cars (think Austin Healy, Renalt, Fiat, Ferrari) european race cars. Anything that's unusual, this team is YOUR TEAM. They have a great business, are resourceful and marvelous problem solvers. I'd recommend them in a heart beat. Thank you Yves for your work on my dad's roadster and my vintage Fiat.
Beware : The car was in the shop for a simple replacement of a Crane ignition box. They used a XT1 replacement. They had previously rebuilt the carb and recommended a manual choke. The car never ran properly after that. It was towed 4 times back to their shop after that.. The final bill was 3500.00 dollars with only 200.00 worth of parts. The car never made it home. It would not run. This in a 1977 MGB with 22000 miles. I had driven the car from Louisville, Ky. to McHenry, Il. 6 months earlier. When the car failed to make it... read more
I just picked up my 71 VW Karmann Ghia she purrs!! Yves and Tim did a wonderful job with the steering gearbox, shifter linkage and a total physical. They provided me with detailed info of all the work performed with a cd of pictures. I am sooo happy with how the car handles. Shifts, sounds and smells.
