This precious gem of a motel has THE BEST customer service. How lucky you’d be to stay here.
On the positive end, this is a very clean and quiet motel and felt plenty safe. Check in was smooth and information was sent exactly on time. I was really excited to stay at this cute motel for a night on our way north and felt like I had found a hidden gem we'd likely return to in years to come, but I would not be back. And am a little surprised by so many 5 star reviews? Wonderful! A comfortable room, a great location, modestly priced, and such courteous management!
I had such a great experience here. I love old-time roadside motels, but the problem is that many of them are run down and past their prime. That is not the case with the Vindel. It still had the mom & pop charm, but was VERY clean. Despite being on a main road in Mackinaw City, it was very quiet and I slept well. The location can't be beat. I easily walked to Shepler's Ferry in about 15 mins. Darrow's Family Restaurant (which I highly recommend as well) is a 5 minute walk away. I would definitely stay here again when visiti... read more
