For five months now Village Woods has been ' lock downed'. It all started with a day's notice that there would be restrictions and changes to the events that are usual.Residents had to figure out just what was going to happen day to day . While staff scrambled to replan the best ways of keeping everyone happy and most of all well. One thing staff and residences would agree we do not want to see the "virus" at this location.So how have things been? Meals are in each room. I researched senior living centers to find a place close to home. In this time of a pandemic I was very concerned with her safety and health. The fact that Village Woods has not had any cases of COVID speaks for itself. I took her for a visit and she loved it as did I. Every single person on staff has been wonderful and treats my mother and her family as their family. Village Woods is warm and welcoming from the very first phone call. My mother has been a resident at Village Woods since 2018. She began in independent living and is currently in assisted living. We were very impressed with the facilities when looking to place Mom after my father's passing. The staff has been very accommodating and their care for her has been exemplary. Village Woods has been able to maintain zero COVID19 residents since the pandemic began. This is a remarkable achievement considering the horror stories at other long term care facilities. The staff at Village Woods is their greatest asset. They have made a difficult transition manageable and have helped our family member settle in and feel wecomed and a part of the community. We have been impressed by the care received & the precautions taken during Covid19 to protect their residents. Kudos to them! I would sincerely recommend Village Woods to others looking for senior placement.
Village Woods is set on a beautiful property overlooking Balmoral Woods Golf Course. Eating meals in the main dining room is an extra treat as you feel like you are staying at a resort. Mom is on an assisted living floor and she enjoys her private room. The aides and nurse come in quickly when mom rings for one, and being a fall risk, that is very comforting to know that she has that support. The staff are kind and accommodating. The atmosphere here at Village Woods is peaceful and loving. I am appreciative for this place and feel secure knowing that my loved one is being cared for so well.
