Very disappointed with this service. I brought in a dress for professional cleaning, but when I picked it up, the original water and food stains were still there. When I returned, they tried to dry clean the dress again without even checking the care label, which clearly says “DO NOT DRY CLEAN” and requires a cold gentle hand wash. Professional cleaners offer different cleaning methods depending on the garment, not just dry cleaning, so I expected my dress to be treated using the proper method indicated on the label. I had a very disappointing experience at Village Cleaners in Wantagh. I brought my wedding dress in to be steamed before my wedding, and when it was returned to me, there were black marks on the dress that were not there beforehand. When I brought this to their attention and asked if anything could be done to fix it, the woman at the front was dismissive and unwilling to take accountability. I ordered a dress online for a destination wedding I'm attending, and of course, it was delivered much later than expected and it didn't even fit! I received the dress Monday night, and visited Village Cleaners on Wednesday at 8:30 AM, with a very large request. I needed the bust taken in and the bottom hemmed - I desperately pleaded with the staff - I knew I was asking a lot in a short amount of time as my flight leaves on FRIDAY AFTERNOON.
